About
The Caribbean Motor Racing Championship has been around for over 20 years. Every year four legs of the event are held at different Caribbean Countries. Jamaica hosts the first event every year followed by Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana then Barbados.
Participants range from a number of different countries namely Surinam, Trinidad, Guyana, Cayman Islands, Jamaica, Barbados and the United States.
Last years Jamaican leg of the event was held at Jamwest Speedway Negril, Jamaica. A number of around 10,000 patrons turned up at the event.
We had 62 race car drivers entering the competition and 20 motorcycle riders.
Seaboard Marine is the title sponsor for the CMRC in all countries and they play a very important role in the possibility of the event. Seaboard Marine takes on the responsibility of trans shipping the race cars, parts and motorcycles throughout the region. However due to economical restraints, teams are faced with the challenge of travelling expenses but dropped scores system means they can still achieve a worthwhile result – drivers will count their best nine results from the potential total of 12 races.
